NCSC International Launches Prosecutorial Training In Honduras

Harold Dampier Jr. is a legal and business professional with nearly three decades of experience, much of which is with the National Center for State Courts (NCSC) International. While Harold Dampier Jr. began working with the NCSC International as the chief of party for the Kosovo Legal Profession Program, he currently serves as the senior strategic advisor for the Justice Matters Activity between the United States Agency International Development (USAID) with NCSC International as the implementing partner.
lawfirm2NCSC International has been involved in an extensive number of activities in the four decades since it was founded. Recent endeavors in Latin America include designing the five-day Standard Prosecutorial Training course, which will help prosecutors in Honduras develop the skills needed for prosecutorial work in the country. A joint project with the Training School of the Public Ministry, the program gives participants lessons in oral trial advocacy, case preparation, and best practices for case management. The Standard Prosecutorial Training course was awarded to the NCSC International by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) in 2018 with the intention of improving Honduras’ criminal justice system.

USAID Announces United States Global Health Security Strategy

A lawyer with more than 30 years of experience in the international arena, Harold Dampier Jr. holds the title of senior strategic advisor for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Justice Matters Activity in Kosovo and National Center for State Courts (NCSC). Among his recent activities, Harold Dampier Jr. helped to improve legal literacy and advance legal aid service delivery in Bangladesh as part of USAID’s Justice for All Program.

Together with the National Biodefense Strategy and National Security Strategy, USAID announced the launch of the new United States Global Health Security Strategy program in May 2019. The program seeks to protect the U.S. and its partners from the potential release, whether accidental or deliberate, of dangerous pathogens.

The United States Global Health Security Strategy centers on three interrelated goals. First, to ensure the U.S. is prepared against global health threats. Second, to secure international support for The Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA). Third, to assist developing nations in their ability to fulfill obligations related to the International Health Regulations. To achieve these goals, the program will continue to develop the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and USAID humanitarian programs in developing countries. Additionally, select country partners will receive funding to address top global health-security risks.
